Not at all. Ethanol is less efficient than gas, it costs more to drive ALL aspects of the food industry, as for the truck instead of the pipes, actually a large carbon footprint, forests are growing significantly more ethanol ... I see a positive benefit of ethanol for each (except the producers of maize).
